Most people come to SystemsWay because they want to get systems around them to work the way they want them to, so they can achieve what they want to achieve, at work, out side of work, or whatever they want to do in life. People come to SystemsWay seeking solutions to problems believing that those systems exist outside of them and creating trouble for them. What they don't realize that we don't fix those problems for them, we have never done how much credit many of the people gives us. What we do is to make them understand that they[each human] themselves are a system with mind, and they are part of to the system to which referred problem belongs. So what we do is
better the understanding of people of the systems to which those problems belong. When they are able to solve those problem with newer better understanding they give us credit for solving it when only credit we shall get is for giving them better understanding only
and one more higher order thing that we do is that we better their understanding of how to understand systems so that they themselves, on their own, can develop better understanding of systems they are dealing in and dealing with, so they they don’t have to rely and come back to us to develop better understanding of each specific systems to which their problem belongs.
So we try not to go into the world of the learner and change things around. We go into the mind of the learner and change their mental model so they then go around change things around in the world to which they belong.
So what does any of this have to do with SystemsWay as a way of life? Here is the connection. Once you understand that you yourself are a knowledge bearing system, and that you are far from perfect, meaning all the biological, evolutionary, cultural and explanatory knowledge, pseudo-knowledge and plain nonsense embedded in you is actively limiting your ability to get the systems around you to work the way you want them to work, then something becomes clear. The purpose of life becomes the improvement of your knowledge of systems. And if that is the goal, then the purpose of life becomes problem solving, because it is through problem solving that you acquire better knowledge of systems and shed the pseudo-knowledge and nonsense that was holding you back. One feeds the other. Always.
And this is where the human situation becomes both honest and a little humbling. So much of what is encoded in us, biologically, evolutionarily, culturally, is simply not well suited to helping us live a happy and fulfilled life in the evolved systems we are living in. So understanding systems, and getting systems to work better, and moving systems forward, that becomes the way of life. It is a never ending effort, yes, but the movement is always upward, always into higher order systems and higher order problems.
And here is the remarkable thing about the human mind: it is capable of countering all of that weight. The wrong evolutionary knowledge encoded in us, it can counter it. The cultural knowledge, the inherited assumptions, it can counter those too. The mind can look at what is running inside it and say: that does not serve me. But, and this is the but that matters, all of it requires awareness. All of it starts there.
Once you understand why you are trying to fix the systems around you, something shifts. Because the process of solving problems, that process itself, is where happiness and fulfillment actually live, once survival is taken care of. Most people hate problems. They become sad around problems. They resent problems. But once you learn SystemsWay, you begin to see something that cannot be unseen: human problems will never end. Never. As we solve problems we move to higher order systems, and higher order systems bring higher order problems. That is not a bug. That is the whole thing.
Once you understand this, really let it in, problems will not shatter you. They will not depress you. They will not make you unhappy. Because what you carry with you now is the confidence that you can find a way through, and the knowledge of how to find a way through, and the understanding that finding the way through is itself what moves you upward, into higher systems, into better problems, into more of life.
Many people ask, is this Nirvana? I don't like to reach for that word lightly. But people who genuinely enjoy solving problems are, in a very real sense, always in a state of Nirvana. And here is a distinction worth holding: animals are also in a kind of Nirvana much of the time, but it is a Nirvana of ignorance. What we are pointing at is a Nirvana of knowledge, one that requires that you have developed enough self command that problems do not break you, and the solving of them gives you something. Provided, of course, the problem is not one of bare survival, because that is not the state we are talking about.
So SystemsWay is a way of living. Keep solving systemic problems. Keep enjoying it. Stay on the upside of your emotions, not the downside, not the side that brings suffering. Is it achievable in absolute terms? Probably not. But the more we move in that direction, the better the life we are living. And isn't that the whole point, to live a good, happy, fulfilled life?
That is what SystemsWay As A Way of Living means. Solving, always. Aware, always. And living well because of both.
